Saturday. Day 8.

In the early morning, Michal, one of my employees, wrote to tell me her niece was dead. Shir Hana Georgy was only 22 years old.

On October 7th, like many other young people of her age, Shir was having fun with friends at an outdoor party. The party was attacked by Hamas terrorists. She was kidnapped, along with other innocent souls, and later murdered.

Israeli forces retrieved the bodies of Shir and some Israeli hostage in Gaza during an apparent first ground invasion into the Strip.

Today I watched too many videos and read too many articles on the ongoing situation. It’s amazing how many people don’t understand the differences between Hamas militant terrorists and the Israeli IDF. What happened to Shir and so many others, at the hands of Hamas, never has happened to Palestinians at the hands of Israeli soldiers.

Hamas launched a sneak attack, yet Israeli soldiers drop leaflets warning Palestinian civilians of forthcoming attacks. Hamas went door to door killing babies, children, women, elderly and complete families. Israeli targets major centers of terroristic activists.

So why aren’t there more cries of outrage? Why are companies and individuals still remaining silent? Humanity demands an overt condemnation of evil. It’s a moral imperative and failure to do so is a clear message in and of itself.

May Shir, and all of the others who’ve died over the past week, rest in peace.
